Indigo Chapters Author Event – A Big Success!

It was a month of planning and preparing all the little details for my most anticipated author event at Indigo Chapters! Indigo Chapters graciously offered me a table at the front of the store and gave me free reign on running the event. I wanted everyone – both adults and children – to discover my books in an interactive way, so I decided to create a variety of activities for everyone to engage in.

My dearest best friend, a.k.a. mastermind marketer, drew up a storm of ideas for me! I decided on colouring sheets of scenes from the books, free raffles for character totes and mugs made using my Cricut Machine, a spin the wheel game for goodies including character stickers, bookmarks, kiddie stress squishies and keychains! I had so much fun planning out all the details and bringing them to life. Seeing how engaged attendees were truly brought me so much joy!

Both friends and family from across many stages of my life and strangers coming into the store responded so positively to my books. I couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you to all whom were present, including my 96 year old grandma – my lifelong fan and believer of my art – who came out to cheer me on! She had always told me she was waiting for the day to see my art out in the world. I’m so happy that she was able to see the start of this creative journey! Because of you all, my children were able to witness the results of passion and motivation powered by loving support. It was a heartfelt mama moment for me to hear my kids tell me they were proud of me!

My son and my daughter proudly wore hats with characters from the book that were inspired by them. “Finding Hello” was inspired by my son who was once so timid, but has blossomed into a confident young boy. “The Little Monster Within” was inspired by my daughter whose big emotions often overtake her. She is so passionate about how she feels and because this, she always loves so strongly and loudly.
